Not that this is a bad thing because it is their house, so their rules, but some developers are crying foul because they don't believe their content is pornographic. However, some of these same developers are removing the "bad" content so they can continue to be sold on Steam. I don't play any of these games so I can't opine on whether the potential bans are valid or not. HuniePop is a game that mixes dating sim elements with a match 3 puzzle game. Part of the dating sim elements include graphic scenes depicting nudity. However, developers of similar games stated that Valve had a policy of allowing this content so long as the developers distributed it in a separate file. Valve has seemingly moved away from that stance last year, mandating that developers can no longer distribute uncensor patches via the Steam Community or provide instructions on how to install them. #HUNIEPOP UNCENSORED PATCH FOR STREAM HOW TO# I don't think they should remove most of these games. #HUNIEPOP UNCENSORED PATCH FOR STREAM ARCHIVE#.#HUNIEPOP UNCENSORED PATCH FOR STREAM MAC OS#.#HUNIEPOP UNCENSORED PATCH FOR STREAM HOW TO#.I have reached out to Valve for official comment. Other platforms, including Google Play and the Apple App Store have dealt with similar issues in the past.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Steam pulled the game. Say what you will about the game, or even Steam’s censorship of nudity, but violating Steam’s Terms of Service is the height of unethicality. In other cases, such as Everlasting Summer and Neko Para, such workarounds were shared by the fans themselves and not endorsed in any fashion by the developers. While not the only censored game to appear on Steam to have workarounds re-enabling censored content, HuniePot (the game’s developer) is the first studio to publish its own workaround to the censorship. One of the game’s developers and moderators of its Steam community forums posted a thread advising prospective buyers on how to skirt Steam’s censorship of the game-censorship, which allowed the game to appear on the platform in the first place-with a patch that adds nudity back into the game. Part of the game’s draw is its sexy anime characters, which have been censored due to Valve’s Terms of Service for the game to be released on Steam.
